Sail on, Austin de Lone. Deepest condolences to his wife Lesley, daughter Caroline, son Ritchie, and all the others that shared time with this remarkable man. Austin was a phenomenal musician, songwriter, a ground breaker, and a guiding light for me and so many more.

With Audie, Eggs Over Easy went to England in the early 70s and became the avowed godfathers of Pub Rock, leading in a direct line to Punk Rock. In his stellar career he lent his unique talents and vibe to Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, Paul Carrack, Clarence Clemens, The Fabulous Thunderbirds, Chuck Prophet, Commander Cody, Dan Hicks and way more.

For the next 50 years Audie was my dear friend, go-to musical partner, and mentor. I can’t overstate how much his influence and example changed my understanding of music and brightened my life in music. I’m sure gonna miss that mighty, soulful, swinging, generous hearted Austin de Lone. Thank you for the beautiful music and memories that you’ve left to sustain us all.
